Meet Everly Jo: My Heavenly Best Friend

Meet Everly Jo: My Heavenly Best Friend

I have a very vivid daydream that I think about often, especially when I miss her most. In this dream I am surrounded by loved ones.  I feel the warm sun on my skin and the smell of tulips in the distance. While standing in line waiting to come to earth, my best friend comes running up to me. Her name is Everly – she’s grinning from ear to ear.

She tells me that she just had a meeting with our Heavenly Father and He informed her that she already passed the test. She only needed to go to earth, receive her body, and then she could return home! We both FREAKED OUT with excitement! Although, I wasn’t surprised because Everly is so perfect and it totally made sense that she didn’t have to learn the same lessons as the rest of us.

After jumping up and down and cheering with excitement, Everly stops me and tells me one more thing.

“I asked Heavenly Father if you could be the one who gives me my body, and he said ‘yes’.

Coming to the realization of what she had told me, my eyes filled up with tears. I cried tears of joy, tears of honor, tears of absolute pride.

Me. She chose me and I would be forever grateful for this opportunity.

The 6 Pound Angel

Meet Everly Jo. Born November 6th, 2017 via scheduled c-section. She weighed a whopping 6 lbs 2 oz’s, and she was 19 inches tall. She was 6 pounds of pure angel.

As I was pregnant with Everly, my family learned  that she would be born with a series of heart defects known as CHD (Congenital Heart Defects). This meant she would require several heart surgeries to sustain her life. She received her first open heart surgery at just 3 days old… then another at 2 weeks old.

Everly was finally on the road to recovery and we were able to take a deep breath and sigh of relief when she was transferred out of the ICU and onto the recovery floor of the hospital.

Three days after being transferred, she suffered a heart attack that she wouldn’t be able to recover from and she returned home to our Father in heaven.

Everly Jo’s Impact on the World

Everly Jo Ostler passed her test, learned her lessons, and she was able to be released from the pain and discomfort she had been in while here on earth.

I am convinced that “the plan” shifted multiple times, and her life was prolonged because of the love we had for her (and the love she had for us in return).

Although this all happened at the end of 2017, Everly continues to leave an impact on this world.

Because of her, we have learned to take care of our hearts and bodies, live life to the fullest, and to love each other more deeply. And even though she has passed on, Everly Jo STILL raises awareness for her friends in the heart community. We are so incredibly proud of her and everything she accomplished while here on earth.

"There is no footprint too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world."
