One Side of the World to the Other, Our Greatest Adventure Yet
Our story began amidst the humming machinery and technical blueprints of our careers as engineers. What started as a professional partnership quickly blossomed into a profound connection, fueled by a shared passion for problem-solving and adventure. We didn’t just fall in love in a quiet office; we fell in love while navigating the complexities of the world, building our bond while working overseas in the rugged landscapes of Afghanistan and the heat of Kuwait.

Once we married, we were ready to start the next chapter of our lives: parenthood. However, the path wasn't as straightforward as the projects we were used to managing. We spent a year hoping and trying for a baby, met only with the quiet frustration of monthly disappointments. Little did we know that my body was fighting a silent battle of its own, one that would soon demand our full attention. Everything came to a head when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
It was a whirlwind of a season, a sudden hospitalization, a steep learning curve of insulin ratios, and the daunting task of managing a chronic condition. It felt like a setback, yet, in a strange twist of fate, the clarity that came with my diagnosis and the stabilization of my health created the very environment my body needed to thrive. The timing felt like nothing short of a miracle. After a year of waiting and just one month after my hospitalization and diagnosis, we finally saw those two lines we had prayed for. It was as if once we had the answers to my health, the universe decided the time was finally right. The transition from a hospital bed to the joy of pregnancy was a whirlwind that proved life has a way of balancing its hardest moments with its most beautiful ones.

Today, our world revolves around Shiloh Adeline, who is now nine months old. She is the perfect culmination of our journey, from the dusty horizons of the Middle East to the challenges of a new diagnosis. After all the engineering feats we’ve accomplished and the miles we’ve traveled, she is undeniably our greatest achievement and the biggest blessing we could have ever imagined.
